The ground was broken for the Hospital facility in 1975 and it opened in 1979. The Hospital is the most architecturally distinct building on campus. One of three on-campus hospitals & is licensed for 258 beds, it's the primary teaching hospital for UT medical, nursing and allied health students, residents and fellows.
UT's clinical programs and services are fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Its key specialties include adult and pediatric heart transplantation, cardiac and neurosurgical care, rehabilitation medicine, cancer treatment, geriatric care and trauma care.
