SINC Privacy Policy

SINC is committed to maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security for users of our site. Our aim is to provide users with a unique and interactive learning experience that effectively delivers quality information and resources to our readers. In order to offer some of our unique services, particularly our mailing list and our CME credit, it is sometimes necessary to collect information from our users. As a commitment to your privacy, SINC issues the following statement disclosing the privacy practices of our site.

What Information We Collect:

Unlike many other sites on the Internet which use a variety of methods to collect personal information from users such as web server logs and cookies, SINC only collects personal information that YOU directly submit to us by means of server-side e-mail scripted submissions.

User-Submitted Information:

When you chose to take advantage of our CME service or our e-mail list, we request your name, e-mail address, and other personal information such as your postal address and phone number. You should remember that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online, there always exists the possibility that your information can be collected and used by others. SINC is committed to protecting your personal information, however, we cannot ensure the security of the information you submit to us, and therefore, you do so at your own risk.

How We Use User-Submitted Personal Information

Information submitted to SINC for the SINC e-mail listserv is kept confidential and is viewed only by SINC technical support personnel. Information submitted to SINC for CME credit is subject to review by the SINC editorial board, and may also be viewed by other members of the SINC support staff during processing. After SINC has reviewed quiz submissions, scores must then be forwarded to office of Continuing Medical Education at The Medical University of Ohio, the accrediting body that certifies SINC online CME activities. CME records are kept on file in this office for quality and assurance purposes.

How We Protect Your Information:

When we collect your personal information we do not make it available to any third parties without your permission, except for those listed above. While we also do collect statistics on our site usage, which we do provide to our current and prospective underwriters from time to time, these statistics do not contain any uniquely identifying personal information, and usage statistics are provided only in aggregate form. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You transmit all personal information to us at your own risk. Once we receive such information however, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
