The Center for Continuing Nursing Education, The University of Toledo College of Nursing offers two online pharmacology courses for advanced practice nurses required by the state of Ohio in preparation for attainment and nine pharmacology modules for renewal of prescriptive authority.
I. Prerequisite Pharmacology for APN Prescriptive Authority
ACCREDITATION:

Dr. Pocotte has broad academic and research experience in pharmacology, chemistry, biology, physiology and pathology. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Central Michigan University in 1979 and her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan in 1985. She has conducted biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health and Navy Medical Research Institute. She has a history of research publications. Currently, Dr. Pocotte is Assistant Professor, The University of Toledo College of Nursing. She teaches graduate and undergraduate Pathophysiology and Pharmacology for which she developed three online courses. Dr. Pocotte's current area of research includes the effects of Reiki energy healing on pain and stress reduction in chronic conditions. Through The University of Toledo Complimentary Medicine Center, she is part of an herb/supplement patient consultant team. Dr. Pocotte has been an invited speaker to numerous professional CE events.
