Opening Groupwise Attachments on a MAC
TO SEE A GROUPWISE E-MAIL ATTACHMENT ON A PC:
There are 2 ways to see an E-mail attachment in GroupWise. You can VIEW the attachment or you can OPEN the attachment:
[NOTE: You Must OPEN Attachments in Order For Application-Specific Features to Be Available (e.g., the Document Tracking Feature in Word)]
I. If your GroupWise is Set Up to OPEN Attachments do one of the following:
a) If You Are Set Up to Open Attachments in the Appropriate Application (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader), Double Click on the Attachment and the Appropriate Application Should Launch and Open the Attachment,
OR
b) If an Association Has Not Been Set on Your Computer for the Attachment File Type, A Dialog Box Will Appear when You Double Click on the Attachment Asking you what Application You Want to Use to Open the File. If You Know the Application Type Required for the Specific File Type (e.g., PDF), Select the Appropriate Application (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader or Acrobat in the case of PDF files)
II. If your GroupWise is Set Up to VIEW Attachments in the GroupWise Viewer:
When You Double Click on the Attachment It's Contents Are Made Available in a Viewer, Rather than in the Application in Which the Attachment Was Created. If Your GroupWise is Set Up to View Applications, You Must Do the Following to OPEN the Attachment:
Right-Click on the Attachment and Select OPEN from the Menu. You may have to select the Appropriate Application as described in Ib above (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader for a PDF file).
To Change the Default Manner in Which GroupWise Handles Attachments on Your PC
Click on TOOLS on the Menu Bar and Select ENVIRONMENT. In the Lower Right Hand Corner of the Environment Window You Can Select Whether Attachments Are to be VIEWED or OPENED When You Double Click on Them.
